Multiple-Vortex Tornado
A tornado containing two or more smaller whirls that rotate around a common centre. The suction vortices can leave narrow streaks of heavier damage.

How to spot it
A broad tornado with smaller, faster whirls visible inside it, sometimes dancing around the edge.
On radar
Usually not resolved by operational radar; seen in photos and close-range mobile radar.
Safety
The small vortices move faster than the whole tornado, making motion hard to predict.
