Privacy policy

This policy explains what Stormchaser collects when you play, why, and what control you have. We keep it to what the game needs. Everything described here is something the game really does.

What we collect

• Game data: your chaser name, progress, purchases, team membership and chat messages, so the game can save and run.
• Your account: there is no email or password. Playing creates an anonymous account tied to a session cookie on your device. If you choose to make a recovery code, we store only a one-way hash of it, so we cannot read it back to you.
• Payments: purchases are handled by our payment provider (Stripe). We receive the item, the amount and a confirmation that it was paid. We never see your card number.
• Technical data: to stop abuse, our network edge uses your IP address to limit how fast requests can be sent. If we log a security event, we store only a short one-way hash of the IP address, never the address itself.
• Usage counts: we count a few anonymous events per day (for example "game opened" or "store opened") to see what works. These counters contain no identifiers. We skip them if your browser sends a Do Not Track signal.
• On your device: your save, settings and session are kept in your browser. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

What we do not do

• We do not sell your personal data.
• We do not show ads or share data with advertisers.
• We do not ask for your real name, address or date of birth.

Who else handles your data

We use Cloudflare to host the game and store its data, and Stripe to take payments. They process data for us under their own privacy terms and may do so in other countries; we do not share your data with anyone else except where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

• Account and game data: while your account exists.
• Chat messages: 30 days, unless a message is part of a report under review.
• Security logs (with hashed IPs): up to 90 days.
• Payment records: as long as tax and consumer law require. They are kept without your name once you delete your account.

Export or delete your data

Open Profile → Your data in the game to download everything we hold about you as a file, or to delete your account. Deleting removes your name, progress, items, friends, team membership, chat and sessions, and cannot be undone. Records we must keep by law (such as payments) stay without any link to a name. If you cannot reach the game, email us and we will do it for you.

Age

Stormchaser is for players aged 13 and over (or the minimum age of digital consent where you live, if higher). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 18, ask a parent or guardian before buying anything. If you believe a child under 13 is playing, email us and we will delete the account.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK, California or Australia) you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your data, and to object to certain processing. Use the options above or email us and we will help. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
